    Currently, as it stands, Toronto is a wasteland for sports. With a few exceptions, nobody wins. GM’s have made a comfy living by over-promising and under-delivering, before racing across the border to leave us holding the cadaver.

    If anything, covering sports for NewsFIX has taught me there are tons of great moments out there that don’t involve the Leafs, Raptors, Argos or Blue Jays. You just have to turn over a few rocks to find them.

    No need for beginner’s luck: Nats win the Cup

    The Toronto Nationals ended their inaugural season by hoisting the Steinfield Cup.

    The Nationals beat the Denver Outlaws 10-9 Sunday afternoon at Annapolis, Md. in front of a crowd of 7,003 to win the Major League Lacrosse title.

    Attacker Shawn Williams scored two goals in the last five minutes of play, the championship winner coming with just 45 seconds remaining in the game. (More …)

    Lacrosse fans rejoice as Nationals head to post-season

    Two offensive powerhouses collided at BMO Field Thursday night, and they didn’t disappoint.

    Going into the game the Toronto Nationals led Major League Lacrosse (MLL) with 150 goals and the Boston Cannons ranked second with 146.

    With two points separating the teams in the standings it wasn’t surprising the game went down to the wire.
