After a 10-year career as an ESL teacher in three different countries, I decided to give to myself the tasks that I had assigned my students in order to continue their journey in discovering the language. Storytelling is now my journey, and I look forward to where it takes me.

  The 6th annual Church Street Fetish Fair, presented by the Church Wellesley Village Business Improvement Area (CWVBIA) and Steamworks Bathhouse, took place on Sunday in scorching weather. The event, which exhibited and promoted the leather, fetish and fantasy community at large, began at 9 a.m. and ran until a little after 9 p.m.

  Volunteers spread out all over the street to collect donations for this year’s charity beneficiary, HIV & AIDS Legal Clinic (Ontario). HALCO is a not-for-profit community-based legal clinic that provides free legal assistance to people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.

• Toronto teens are works of art

  After 10 years of providing young people in the GTA with a place to develop artistically, the AGO’s Teen Behind the Scenes Program celebrated its anniversary with the launch of a new exhibition and video project Wednesday evening.

  InTENse: 10 Years of Teens Behind the Scenes at the AGO celebrates the creations of visual art and video by the AGO program members, all of whom are teenagers. Works range from traditional gallery size canvases to sculptures.

• Toronto techno festival knows what TIME it is

  Following last year’s successful inauguration, Embrace Entertainment has planned an even grander event on Saturday, July 25 for TIME Festival 2009. It will feature high-calibre performances from international artists, with headliners Toronto’s own Crystal Castles, San Francisco’s Mark Farina, Detroit’s Jeff Mills, Chicago’s Flosstradamus, Paris DJs Don Rimini and Mehdi, Baltimore’s Rye Rye, Vancouver’s Felix Cartel and Montreal’s DJ A-Trak, who couldn’t keep away after performing last year.
