(NewsFix) A recent survey conducted related to the children’s food allergies and their cost gave out a shocking revelation. It stated that U.S. has to spend nearly $25 billion every year to cover all the harmful effects.
The research was taken forward by Dr. Ruchi Gupta, a pediatrician from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and also a professor from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. The team surveyed a total 1643 parents who are dealing with their child’s food allergy.
Through survey it was dragged out that a total of $4.3 billion were lost as medical expenditure. An addition of $773 is referred to the productive loss of the parents. Around $5.5billion are spent on special allergy control food products.
Well this is not all. Around 9.1% of parents have lost their work related opportunities as they need to attend their sick kids. This accounts for similar monetary losses to them.
