According to an study, you may want to avoid people who are considered lonely in regards to their social feeling, as they may be contagious. The study was carried out by researchers from the University of Chicago, Harvard University, as well as the University of California (San Diego), and focused on people who were considered to be lonely.
What researchers found was stunning to say the least, as they found that people who are around those who are considered lonely are more likely to be lonely themselves. This means that the feeling of being lonely can actually be quite contagious. Researchers stated that an average person feels lonely 48 days out of any given year.
If they hang around someone who also feels lonely, they may feel lonely up to an extra 17 more days each year.
Those who are most likely to be hit by these contagious feelings include spouses, siblings, and close friends.
The bottom line, basically try to be with people who do not feel this way. Social networks have been found to be good for your health, improving state of mind and suppressing loneliness.
