A man accused of stealing jewels from an 83-year-old woman on her hospital deathbed was remanded in police custody Monday after a brief court appearance.

Marcos Marinoni, 26, was arrested Saturday near Keele St. and Finch Ave. W. in connection with the theft from Toronto East General Hospital.
