And there were plenty of smiling faces at the 4th annual Santa Claus Parade in the Beaches this Sunday, Nov. 22.
Organized by Community Centre 55 and the Kingston Road Village Business Association, it started at Victoria Park and Kingston Road and made its way west to Waller Street. The theme of the parade this year? Sugar Plum Fun.
An estimated 10,000 people lined the north side of Kingston Road to enjoy the marching bands, cheerleaders and of course, the star of the show, Mr. Ho Ho Ho himself. The local businesses and community self-help groups participated too. Volunteers handed out candy and treats to the delight of the crowds enjoying the fall-like weather.
The fun continued even after the final float had glided by, as Mr. and Mrs. Claus received their little guests at Community Centre 55 on Main Street, with music, face-painting and tree-trimming.
