When there’s no more room in hell, the dead will walk the streets of Toronto.

The 2009 Toronto Zombie Walk kicked off at Trinity Bellwoods Park this afternoon. Despite the threat of rain, the weather held up until the undead reached their destination: The Bloor Cinema for a zombie double feature.

Organizer Thea “Munster” Faulds expected 3,000 walking dead to attend the annual event. Prizes were handed out for best costumes, best moan and best zombie walk. Makeup artists were on-hand to bloody the participants - provided by the makers of Resident Evil: The Dark Chronicles, and costumed “Umbrella Corporation” soldiers took control of the crowds of lurching, shuffling and even crawling zombies.
