While some Torontonians are dropping their waste in city parks, including the much put-upon Christie pits, other Toronto residents have at least acted on the concept of trash bins as places where refuse goes.

Bags of garbage huddled against a city trash-bin at Queen Street and John Street last night.

Barriers of plastic wrap failed to overcome the persistence of city-dwellers with water bottles and pizza boxes to dispose of.

Other bewildered citizens have endured long waits and surly strikers to drop their garbage at transfer stations.

On the upside, LCBO workers have put off strike action for the time being.

Torontonians can drink, but will have to keep their bottles for now.
