Police have charged one man with attempted murder but are still searching for another suspect days after a robbery and shooting on St. Dennis Drive.
Details about the alleged crime are vague. It started on Tuesday when police rushed to the scene of a robbery near Eglinton Avenue East and Don Mills Road. There they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound after he was robbed by two suspects. He was taken to hospital.
Early Friday morning, members of the Toronto Police Service Emergency Task Force, the York Regional Police Emergency Response Unit, and 54 Division Major Crime Unit raided a home on Vendome Place not far from where the robbery took place. Police also raided a second home in Markham.
Kurtis McLetchie, 22, of Toronto, is charged with 14 offences including armed robbery, attempted murder and possession of cocaine.
Police are still searching for another man, Saeed Savalanpour, 21, of Toronto. He is described as white, five foot nine and 200 pounds, with dark hair and brown eyes. Police consider him armed and dangerous.
